I am the Founder/Owner of Savage Pro Fitness. Would you believe me if I told you that at the age of 16, I weighed an astonishing 298 pounds? What if I told you that at the age of 17, I was homeless and I lived in a park in Tampa, Florida for four months? What if I told you those obstacles I had to overcome made me the SAVAGE I am today?
My journey to where I am today has been a difficult one that I would like to share in hopes that I can make a difference in your life. As an obese teen, I was accustom to being teased and bullied daily because of my weight, being different was not always acceptable, especially as a teenager. I endured countless group beatings and public humiliation from both children and adults because of my size. My self-esteem was nonexistent, which led me to self-isolation and self-pity. Life has a way of exposing weakness and fear in people, and I had to accept my life for what it was. I came to the realization that life is not fair and I was overweight because of my own decisions.
I had to have an open and honest conversation with myself and decided to take action. I tried every recommended quick fix to weight loss but nothing worked. I realized that in order to get healthy I could no longer search for the easy way out. I understood that in order to get lasting results I had to take a different approach. I began my transformation by studying the mechanics of foods- how they interact with the human body and how the human body reacts to food. I incorporated exercise into my daily routine and changed my outlook on what it really means to be fit. I was committed to living a healthier life and I was determined to stop being a prisoner in my body.
All of the turmoil, hardship, and failures I have endured, catapulted me into finding my greatest strengths. I am a no nonsense trainer that refuses to accept excuses. My struggles early in life prepared me to become the Trainer and Soldier I am today. Twenty-Two years later, I am a Chief Warrant Officer Three in the United States Army. I am an ultra-marathon runner who completed the John F. Kennedy 50 miler in 2019 & 2020. I have completed 13 full marathons and well over 50 half marathons. I have achieved the maximum points on numerous Army Physical Fitness Tests over the course of my career. I am a Health and Wellness coach and a Strength and Conditioning coach. All of my fitness achievements I attribute to growing up overweight. At times, I wonder how much my life would be different if I gave up, but I continue to use my hardships as motivation to help others achieve their fitness goals.

The road to optimal health is a very rocky unforgiving terrain, filled with success and failures. For over fifteen years, I’ve dedicated my life to helping clients reach their optimal wellness goals through Discipline, Commitment and Dedication. I teach clients to embrace their failures and celebrate their successes. Mental toughness is the cornerstone to my program. Having the ability to overcome life’s adversity is a very powerful human superpower, which is why I run a very strict, self-accountability program. As a trainer, I empower clients to take control of their eating and exercise habits by providing personalized training, customized meal plans, knowledgeable instruction and motivational support. Collaborative effort with the client playing a role in the decision making of their program has proven to be very beneficial to both trainer and client. I enjoy having the ability to affect change in a person’s life, in which the client plays an integral part in the wellness plan design.
Decision comes from the Latin decidere ("determine").: The act of commitment to a course no matter what happens; the understanding along your path that there will be numerous failures, setbacks and disappointments. Your decision is a one way trip to your goals. There is no going back, because the pathways and bridges to return you are burnt.
Commit to your decision, which involves dedicating your Mind, Body, and Soul to something greater than yourself. Accept responsibility, your actions speak volume. The road to success requires you to have laser focus on your goals, nothing less is acceptable. Commit to honesty and transparency, you cannot trick your way to overall wellness. Committed people are highly uncommon in their life and in life, generally.
Decision + Commitment
